When you create emails you'll notice the address of the recipient will automatically be filled in as you type their name into the To: box.  Internal emails will automatically be included in the list of potential recipients.  You will, also, get a list of people you have emailed to in the past.  This is a function of GMail and, generally, a nice capability that enables you easily get email addresses of people you have emailed to in the past.

This useful function has a downside.  Sometimes you typed in the wrong email address, a person has 2 email addresses and you only want the one, or you get people with the same name and you only want the one email address.  Simply put, you want that email address to go away.

Here's how you do it.

From your GMail account click the group of dots in the upper right hand corner that lists your other Google Apps

Now choose Contacts.  Since you, most likely, did not enter this contact purposely, you will, probably, find the contact you are looking for under Other Contacts.

When you've found the contact you are looking for just click on that record.  Here you can make changes to the contact information.  To delete the contact press More button and then Delete contact.
